Starting a Network Marketing Business

Posted by editor

I started a Network Marketing business in 1977, which is when I first learned about the soaring spirit and fulfilling dreams.  Also, I learned that I can change the rules society teaches us: in other words,  (1) go to school (2) get good grades (3) so we can go to college (4) and get a good job.

Society’s rules worked well for most people at that time, only because it wasn’t taught in school or by our parents. Most of them didn’t realize that there is another way to be successful.  Most people didn’t know that we can become successful as an entrepreneur and a business owner as well.

Society needs people to own businesses and provide jobs for those who want to work. Unfortunately, in those days, there was little information available about becoming a business owner or an entrepreneur.

Network Marketing

Network Marketing companies showed people how they could become a business owner and control what happens to them. People learned that they could invest a little money and spare time into a Network Marketing business and that would affect their income and lifestyle more than they could through a job.

Through Network Marketing, we learned that:

  • We can change our stars if we want to;
  • We must follow success principles that reward us with the things we want;
  • We can obtain what’s important to us when we make the commitment to do so;
  • We cannot allow people to keep us in a box that prevent us from becoming who we want to be and obtaining what we feel is important in life;
  • We have the God-given right to be who we feel we need to be;
  • We cannot live our lives through other peoples expectations of us.

Overcoming Obstacles

Family and friends tried to convince me that I could not write a book, they thought I wasn’t smart enough to write a book that people would buy. One son even said that I did not know anything about peace, joy, and happiness. In addition, I was nobody and had no credentials, meaning I had no titles or letters after my name, and I had no accomplishments to impress people. Therefore, I was not credible and no one would pay attention to me and would not buy my book. They worried that, if no one bought my book, I would fail and be devastated by it. Feeling that way just proved that they did not really understand why I was writing the book.

These experiences taught me that we have to go after what we believe we are supposed to do, especially when everyone close to us says we cannot do it. In my case, however, people did buy my books. I did not fail because I made the decision that “I Will Not Be Denied My Destiny“.

I completed the book anyway, in spite of the teasing I took from friends and family, and published another book after that. Instead of giving up, I followed through with the publishing and I am pleased that I did.

Many readers told me that the book helped them overcome problems they have not been able to resolve until they read the book. One woman said that I understood her better than anyone else has throughout her entire life. Another said he learned more in the first ten pages of the book than he has from all the other books he has ever read. He said I had a natural gift to mirror life in general.

People were able to get through their problems and make their lives better. That was a blessing to me. Tell me, “How is this not being successful?” I may not have become rich and self-sufficient from the sale of any of my books, but knowing that I have helped improve someone’s life is more rewarding than anything. It is the most amazing feeling inside when you know you have done something that gives value such as this to people.
