Parking In Your Business
PARKING AT A LEVEL OF SUCCESS KILLS A BUSINESS
I’ve discovered that one of the greatest enemies to success is reaching a certain level and then parking. Success becomes stagnate when people park themselves and stay there instead of setting new goals and continuing to grow.
People park when they sit back and rest on past laurels; the mistake being that they allow over-confidence and past successes to cloud future rewards. This situation makes people lazy in their business dealings. Inevitably, they become board with their lives and fall victim to complacency.
Another problem with parking is it sets up people for a nose-dive when the tide changes, as it often does. As such, it behooves successfull people to continue setting goals to keep them feeling alive and staying active. Staying active doesn’t have to mean making more money or reaching a higher level of completion. Staying active means setting goals that make your life mean something more than just making money.
A stagnant situation happens in business when people stop dreaming, stop reaching for goals, and stop growing in their businesses! This is NOT good! I’ve been around a number of success- oriented people over the past thirty years, and I’ve seen this situation happen frequently. Lack of planning for “what’s next” is the main reason people park.
Another reason people park is they do not want to become too big of a business and make too much money. They have various reasons for feeling this way and that is okay. Not everyone wants to become mega-successful and receive mega-income from it. As long as their reasons do NOT include they are complacent and have stopped dreaming, it is okay to not reach for higher levels. However, to maintain a healthy business and downline, people must never stop dreaming and growing their businesses.
To have a healthy organization, there must be a constant flow of new blood coming into the business. New people make a healthy organization because they come in full of belief and excitement. This motivates downline and keeps upline busy and excited so their businesses keep growing as well. Any business doing otherwise become stagnant and will stop growing.
You cheat your own business and your organization when you do not have new people coming into your business and when you stop dreaming. Your downline will duplicate you. So when you stop growing, so will they.
